As Always, Friday Gossip Hour

So, Lady Gaga is back at it again with Born This Way.  Well, with that said, I dont know if she has ever really stopped “being at it”.  We were debating this morning over our coffee and koozies, something we like to call Kooz and Coff) whether or not Lady Gaga was really Born This Way, or whether she is just a great actress / marketer.

Well, the office is split even – right down the middle. What do you think, was Lady Gaga really “Born This Way” or is it an all act.  Frankly, I voted for to be an act – but a damn good one at that.  She is making a ton of money – a lot more than me, kooziez.com and probably all of my loyal readers. 

So with that said I think I might need to become Mr Lady Gaga, I can act, dance, sing (none of these well), and do a few other things to earn some case.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and has guys everywhere headed for the hills!  Not to fear, the gift-giving guide is here.  It’s always nice to have a few suggestions in the back of your head that not only convey thoughtful loving feelings but are easy on the wallet too!  These gift ideas are great for any holiday and friends and family too!

Great Gift Ideas

5. Chocolate: Sounds like it’s been done?  Not when you make this yummy treat by hand.  Whether it’s chocolate covered fruit or something more ambitious, they’re are all kinds of DIY kits available that are almost foolproof.

Countdown to Packers v Steelers – Prediction

We at Kooziez.com, like many other companies, will be participating in a few office pools and betting scenarios for the Super Bowl – Packer Steelers.  We play a few games that include, heads-up betting, alternative point spreads, who scores first etc.  You can find a really cool list of all the proabable bets right here.   If I am not mistaken, I believe there are a few hundred options just like there are hundreds of koozies options. 

Personally – here are my predictions – enjoy .

1.  Packers win the Superbowl by 4 points.  Final Score should be 28-24 Packers.  I believe they win by scoring 2 TDs in the 4th quarter and then stopping a last ditch effort by Big Ben Rothlisberger in order to shore up the game.

2.  Steelers will score the first touch down on the first drive of the game – a 20 yeard pass from Ben to Hines Ward.

3.  The game will go over the posted total.

4.  A good bet will be a parlay Packers to the Over.

5.  When playing the square game (trying to predict the final digits of the final score – play 0,1,4,7,8.  These are good numbers to play – and generally the most probable – the numbers to stay away from are 2,3,6,9.  These numbers are unlikely to hit; with the one exception being the 3.

6.  Bet Tails – Everyone loves to bet heads and since Vegas almost always win – then you should bet the outcome Vegas desires – e.g. bet on the Tails coming out on the coin flip – this is a big bet for a lot of people – good luck.

Finally dont bet to much – if you bet to much money, you want enjoy the game.

Best betting to everyone – this may be my last blog before the big game as I plan on taking a 3 – day weekend to go watch the game with some friends (Dont worry, Kooziez.com will be open assiting you in all your Koozies needs).

Office Gossip and Kim Kardashian

So for those who live under a rock and dont know who Kim Kardashian is, here is a photo.

As I am sure many of my readers know, each office has their gossip time and Kooziez.com is no different.  Generally gossip time takes place over Coffee, after lunch, or on Friday afternoons; but it happens and happens frequently.  This morning at Koozie Castle we were sitting around gossiping and drinking coffee (as usual) and one of the guys in the Art Department made a statement about Kim Kardashian being super hot and how he cant wait to see her superbowl ad that is supposed to be “HOT”… and the next thing you know it is guys verse girls sharing their opinions on Kim Kardashian.

Normally these conversations are broken up quickly and everyone gets back to work but because the owner of Kooziez.com (a lovely lady) wanted to share her opinion this back and forth lasted a while and needless to say, it got a little heated at times, especially when the women began questioning the Boy’s inteligence.

Basically, the guys had one sticking point, I dont care what you say “Kim Kardashian is Hot” and knows how to “work it”.   The girls on the other hand had a different opinion and can be summed up as “Kim Kardashian is just your typical cute american girl that had a great plastic surgeon and a sex tape” also that “she is nothing special and any girl willing to put themselves out there could be Kim Kardashian”. 

Well, I personally dont want to get involved in making my opinion known, especially in writing on the Company Blog that I work for, but I thought that it would be good to let you know that our office is a lot like yours – full of gossip and opinion.

Taco Bell Class Action Law Suit

So, if you guys have not heard, Taco Bell has a class action Law Suit on their hands.  Normally we do not comment on other companies or other people here at Kooziez.com (unless they deserve it); but we figured it would be good to let you know that we use REAL Koozies when we make our custom koozies.

Texting and Walking - do not necessarily go together like Beer and Koozies

We at Kooziez.com work to keep it light on Fridays; thus, we thought we would share a video with you that we recently saw of a women falling into a fountain while texting.  Now, dont get me wrong, we definitly will be the first to admit that we (members of Team Kooz) have fallen many times, done many bone headed things, and definitly have been the front end of a lot of laughs, especially Drew in the art department (However we do often forgive Drew for his clumsiness because he sure can create a custom koozies.

For those who have not seen the clip, take a second and watch it, you will bust a gut laughing.  Our personal favorite part is the fact that she gets up, dusts her self off (not sure you can dust off water, but you get the point) and keeps on walking out the door.  The only thing that would have made it better is if she kept on texting.

One last note – did you know she is thinking about suing?  Crazy huh…Well, back to making koozies; nevertheless – TGIF!

Restaurants.com: Eat out a lot?  If you tend to frequent restaurants owned by large dining groups (i.e. Atlantic Fish) check out these gift certificates that are always sold at a heavily discounted price.

The Freebie Blogger:  This gal does an amazing job of collecting coupons and free offers.  He often includes offers for free books, e-books, stickers, music, etc. and always has tons of great coupon links available.  He’s also always in the know when it comes to who is giving away free ice cream!

Living Social: Posts great deals to local businesses that involve getting a service or credit at a much lower price that what it can be redeemed for.  For example, today they’re featuring a $20 Amazon gift card for an out of pocket cost of just $10!

*PriceSmart trap: Buying brands you wouldn’t ordinarily purchase simply because they’re being sold in a gigantic whole-sale type club.  Don’t ordinarily spend the extra dough on pricey chocolate?  Then you certainly won’t save money buying the pricey brand at PriceSmart.  Go in with a list and be smart about your savings – check around on some pricing of your favorite items to be sure that you really are getting the best bang for your buck!

The Perfect Superbowl Party

Folks, if you are an NFL football / party fan, over the next few weeks, you are in luck.  Not only do you have the AFC and NFC championship game to watch, you have the Superbowl coming up as well.  The cherry to top it off, is the fact that the 4 teams left are bitter rivals and have a long history in the league.  I for one am excited to see what will happen.

With that said, I am also preparing for the parties I will be throwing.  I have already spoke with my wife and have the budget approved for not one but two parties.

My Party Plan

Step one is simple, create a good guest list and confirm the time.  To confirm the time, just go to ESPN.com.  Right now, I have about 7 friends and their significant others planning to come.  Step two, secure the location – we are going to use my house and my 50 inch plasma to watch the games, enough said.  Step three, confirm the food and drinks.  We are going with the tradiotional barbeque items; chips and dip, burgers, hot dogs, beer (lots of it).

The other essentials.  I always make some custom koozies for my parties so that my guest can keep their beers cold and have a little token to take home to remember the good time.   Also, as everyone these days are on a budget, dont be afraid to ask youg guests for a little coin.  This will help keep the costs down and allow the party thrower less stress so he can enjoy the event.  Trust me, if they are your friends and want to party, they will throw down whatever it takes to get it done.

Once the party begins, just sit back and enjoy the show, you got your Super Bowl Koozies and your beer – you dont need anything else…

Why We Love Fridays at Kooziez.com?

So, as you know, our blogs change from information, to personal, back to information, and once again back to personal.  My job description is to keep our readers and customers informed, enlightened, laughing, etc.  We want everyone to know we love designing and printing Koozies; but we are also humans that make up a small family business.  We are not a computer program that spits out Koozies for the best prices on the web.

So with that said, the blog this morning will be short and sweet.

This morning we were sitting around what we call Koozie Castle, sluggishly drinking our coffee, and one of our sales reps stated – “TGIF”.  Thank God It’s Friday.  Frankly, I have to agree!

But the statment got me thinking, why do we/I love Fridays?  Is it because the weekend is coming, payday is here (for some of us), Saturdays are sporting days (big games this weekend in the NFL), weekends are family times, we can sleep in and not feel bad or run the risk of being fired?

Well, I think it is a little bit of every reason for everyone.  Personally, I like Friday’s because I love Sports and social activities with friends and family, like fishing, hiking, beaches, beer drinking, etc.  Also, I must admit, I enjoy not showing up to the office, even though the job at Kooziez.com selling custom koozies is often times quite enjoyable.
