New Site New Design New Kooziez.com

Kooziez.com has been reveamped and redesigned to better the custom koozie experience.

So, we recently decided to redo our website.  Needless to say it was a lot more work than anyone ever expected.  We started by building a design with 99designs.com.  The design process is not as easy as designing custom koozies.  It is easily a 4-6 week process with design proofs, back and forth, voting, etc – it was NOT EASY.

Once you pick out your design, the hard part starts.  This is when you have to take your design and incorporate it into your current website.  This is not as easy as 1-2-3… this is more like rocket science meets astrophysics.  I would say printing koozies is about at 10x as easy as coding a website.  Coding is a process that takes a person who is highly trained a lot of time to get everything right.  Attention is in the details and needless to say – the details are expansive.

Finally, once you get the site designed, you have to get it incorporated and indexed with the search engines so that clients can find you again – this is not as easy as 1-2-3 – I wish it was that easy.

Well – the new site is up and we are selling beer koozies – enjoy!

NCAA vs. NFL

QB Vince Young scoring the winning TD

Have you ever compared a College Football player’s performance with that of an NFL player’s? This question actually sparks a universe of conversation amongst football fans all over the world. True Football fans can tell the difference, and this is a topic of some very heated discussions between fans, which is why I’ve taken the liberty to publicly display my personal opinion on this matter.

You see, in our great nation The United States of America, we’re all raised to be Football crazed since we’re toddlers. This frenzy has driven Football to be the #1 sport in the country along with Baseball (which in my opinion, is too slow a sport). From Pee Wee (Pop Warner) Football to the NFL, it’s part of our lives since we can remember. But when it comes down to pondering when our athletes perform their best, I’d have to say it’s during the college years. If you’re great in college and enrolled in a Division I College Program, you’re almost guaranteed draft to the NFL before you even graduate. It’s what we call a ‘stepping stone’ into the big leagues, where everyone makes the big bucks. Similarly, when in high school, getting a full scholarship to any major university or college in the country would be considered a stepping stone. Take a look at the Philadelphia Eagles back-up QB Vince Young, for instance. Vince Young studied at Madison High School in Houston, TX, which is a 5A Division Football Program, the highest level of high school performance in the state Texas. He received a full scholarship to the University of Texas at Austin, during a time of great pride for their Football Program. Ranked in the BCS Top 25 all four years under his leadership and Mack Brown’s coaching, they went on to beat the University of Southern California for the National Championship in 2005, where Vince scored the winning Touchdown with few seconds remaining on the clock. If you ever watch the last two minutes of that game, you will see the ambition and determination of this young athlete to win the Title, while remaining in awe.

Since being drafted to the NFL, Young’s career has quieted down and his popularity diminished to mediocrity practically. His performance shows caution and lack of ambition, which he once showed in college. This is due to the fact that once in the NFL, players in general, wish to stay there and will do almost anything to keep it that way for as long as humanly possible. This is understandable, considering the fact they’re getting paid millions of dollars in contract to play Football. Young’s case is a perfect example; how does a National Champion lose the starting position at QB after every single fan in the league expected him to be great? You can answer by stating he’s a ‘Washed-Up QB’, which we all know is probably the greatest truth of all. In my opinion, Young figured now that he’s in the NFL making millions, why should he bust his rear trying to win the Super Bowl? My answer is, “Because it’s what separates good players from Legends!”

In the NCAA, players perform their best in order to get scouts and teams interested in them, so hopefully one day they’ll get drafted into the National Football League and help their families economically. Once the goal is achieved, there’s no need to work as hard. This is a bit sad, considering every child in our nation has a favorite NFL player. Yet, every once in a while you find a player with the ambition to go the distance and become a Legend, but this very rare. Truth of the matter is, most professional football athletes had their best performance during college because they wanted to make it in life, life in the NFL.

Now that you know what I think of about College & NFL players, I’ll go ahead and watch NFL Sunday with my buddies and drink beer, while handing out Koozies of my favorite team, the Houston Texans.

Stephen Colbert and Koozies

Koozies Make Colbert a Better Man

So – At Kooziez.com we love Stephen Colbert of the Colbert Report.  For those who do not know, Colbert is a comedian who acts like a blow hard pundit like O’Reilly, Olberman, and the other idiots of both of the left and right.

Recently he launched an ad with his Super PAC (A Super PAC is a political action committee that can spend unlimited, and raise unlimited, money for whatever they see fit.  His most recent commercial was targeted at the NBA and the lock out of the players.  He called the victims of the lockout the billionaire owners of the league. If you have not seen it, it is priceless – watch it.

Well one more thing – Colbert has recently received some Koozies from yours truly – we look forward to finding out when he will share them on the air.

Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs _ RIP

So, the pancreatic cancer finally brought down the living legend – Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs of Apple INC passed away last night. When it comes to innovators in the 21st century, no check that, when it comes to innovators of the history of mankind, Steve Jobs is on the top 10 list, along with Einstein, Galileo, etc.

Here you can read some of the Steve Job quotes through his lifetime. Read the dates and when they were said. The foresight this main had is unbelievable. Job’s quotes may not be ones that can fit on any custom koozie, but they sure are good quotes.

I am not the biggest fan of Apple but my wife is. She loves the IPAD, the MAC, the I-Phone – she loves and has them all. I believe when it comes to market value Job’s company is one of the most valuable companies in the world and for that matter, this history of mankind.

I do not know who is going to replace Jobs at Apple and become the next innovator, but whoever it is, they have big shoes to fill.  Back to printing custom koozies.

Amanda Knox is Home in Seattle

Amanda Know is Free and Home In the State of Washington

So, as of yesterday Amanda Knox – aka – Foxxy Knoxxy – is free and back home in the United States of America.  After four long years fighting for freedom from an Italian Jail, Amanda Knox made her way home last night.

About 4 years ago, Amanda Knox lost her roommate in a brutal crime that took place at her house. Knox and her then boy friend were then accused of the crime and found guilt.  However, after 4 years of appeals, recanting of witnesses, and a drama that is made for Hollywood, she is free.  Good Luck getting your movie deal – sit back, grab a cold one, and enjoy your custom koozies.

Frankly, I do not know if she committed the crime or not – however, I do believe she knows who did. I feel bad for the English women’s family who passed away and I hope justice is served, but for now, I am sure Amanda Knox is happy and is free.  She is about to make a million with interviews and books.

Anderson Cooper – can you really take him serious?

Anderson Cooper – can you really take him serious behind the desk?

Anderson Cooper of CNN.com had a hissy fit yesterday thanks to Gerard Depardieu’s peeing on the floor.  He made some ridiculous jokes about urine and the french language, his writer’s are not good. A pun is only good as the delivery and Cooper is not set up for the delivery.  He tries to be like jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, but frankly Cooper is not in the same league with those guys. Those guys can kill it – this man cannot!

Cooper is at his best when he is out in the field. I will give him respect for some of the reporting he has done in Africa, Asia, Haiti, etc.  I am impressed by his demeanor and bravery – but behind a desk and comedy – my opinion differs. I think he should stick to just the field reporting.  Just like I should probably stick to printing koozies and not journalism.

Niagara Falls Claims Another Victim

Niagara Falls Claims Another Victim

Niagara Falls claims another victim. Recently, an Asian Tourist, who jumped over a railing in order to have a better photographic opportunity, fell to her death. Canadian divers searched for the victim for hours but were unable to locate her. However, in a weird twist, they were able to find another victim.

Niagara falls is famous for tourist and crazy deaths. Unfortunately, the fall has made the impressive waterfall look less than impressive over the past few weeks.

Below you will see a photograph of the falls and needless to say, it looks powerful.

I visited the Falls about 5 years ago on the way back from Canadian. I was impressed, but smart enough to not go near the lip of the falls and definitely not crazy enough to try and ride a barrel over the falls.  Well – let me know your thoughts – back to printing koozies.

Warren Buffett

Warren Buffett

Warren Buffett is the man.  I don’t care what you say, he is a pretty cool guy.  Here is a guy worth anywhere from 30-50 billion depending on the year, the market, and how things are flowing that is literally just like you and I. He drives a modest car, lives in the same house that he lived in before he made his wealth, he has kept his family in tact, and he made a TON of money and he gives it all away…Amazing.

Warren is now in the news because he is calling for the wealthy to pay more in taxes, well Warren the blogosphere is asking for you to put your money where your mouth is. Warren, a million to you is not very much to 99.99% of Americans it is more than their net worth. I do not think you should be penalized for being successful, nevertheless, I cant find any other way to increase revenue for the federal government.  Want to help out? At the bare minimum, buy some custom koozies :) .

Unclaimed Money

Unclaimed Money

So as we all know people around the world love to play scams on dumb unassuming Americans and the reason why is because we actually fall for it. Well there is a new one today claiming to have unclaimed money that is yours. The scammers send emails to unsuspecting individuals asking them to send personal information in order to be elegible to receive their funds.

Most recently this scam has been working and working well in Ohio. Ohioan authorities have been working to warn there citizens in order to keep them from falling victim to the scam. Ironically, Ohio does have a lot of unclaimed money, last year alone the State returned over 60 million dollars in funds to its citizens.  Needless to say, that is a lot of unclaimed cash. I wish I had some unclaimed cash left to me by some distant family member or what not so I could buy more custom koozies.
